Everyone loves a wood fire; it brings life and light into a house, making it into a home. But open fires can be polluting, inefficient and inconvenient. Our modern wood pellet stoves offer the warmth and comfort of wood heating but are highly efficient, clean burning and totally automatic, saving you time and money.

We are have a special offer with excellent prices available on wood pellet stoves for a limited time. Call 1890 252 412 for further details.

So what is a wood pellet stove?

This self contained unit is an attractive feature in any room while also being a functional part of your environmentally friendly heating solution. The pellets are poured into the tank through a large and convenient opening on the top of the stove.

From here the automation takes over. Using your remote control you can start the stove; the automatic ignition does the hard work for you. Once combustion has begun you can set the level of heat output to your own comfort. This unit can also be programmed to a daily and weekly schedule so you can wake up or come home to a welcoming fire.

Primary Uses of Wood Pellet Stove

We offer two types of stove, one specifically to heat the room it is placed in and the second to heat a back boiler in addition to the room.

The stoves are available in three colours: Sand, Bordeaux and Black, making them a stylish feature in any room.

Benefits / Advantages of Wood Pellet Stove

  • This product is easy to install and run.
  • The choice of colours complements any room and the choice of sizes gives you the option to heat just the room or the room and a back boiler system also.
  • The wood pellets themselves are made from compressed sawdust, a by product of wood processing which was considered waste until recent years. This dried sawdust has very low moisture content and is compressed into pellets before being packaged for sale. Generally no glue or binding is required other than the sap from the timber itself.
  • This easy to transport clean fuel is very cost efficient with current prices of €4 - €5 per bag will give you 10 hours of burning*. (*subject to market fluctuation)
  • This renewable source of energy does not contribute to climate change. The carbon dioxide that is released when the pellets are burned is equal to the amount the tree consumed when it was growing. Wood pellets are manufactured with wood from managed and sustainable forests.
  • Pellets are a high energy, smoke free fuel. They are easy to source, store and load with no mess and creates very little ash.
  • The initial cost and ongoing running costs of pellet stoves are less than oil and gas while still providing a similar heat output.
  • The automatic fuel supply and a thermostat mean that you can relax and enjoy the comfort of pellet heating at the switch of a button. Automatic ignition means that lighting the fire is hassle free.

Installation involves delivery of the stove and under plate with all the flue accessories. Once the stove is placed on the under plate in an acceptable position in the room and the flue is connected correctly the installation is complete. For the larger stove the back boiler is hooked up by a plumber.

Minimal maintenance is required. This involves periodical removal of the residues and soot traces from the inner walls using special levers. When these levers are pulled outward the scraping of internal tubing is carried out. Each morning before starting the stove the perforated brazier must be extracted and cleaned to maintain the stove performance.

What's a Watt?
Tue, 07 Sep 2010 04:00:00 GMT 2010-09-07T04:00:00Z - The evolving discussion over renewable energy technologies has a tendency to get a bit technical. Most of us who work in the renewable energy space take for granted that many potential customers, investors and partners haven't spent any time in academia studying photovaltaics or wind turbines. In fact, they may not have a background in general energy metrics. Terms that once belonged to the realm of industry-insider jargon are quickly becoming standard. Thus, anyone who wants to follow the renewable versus traditional energy debate needs to know what we mean when we say "watt." Here, then, is a brief crash course in energy lingo.
