We offer specialty glass to glass PV solar panels customized to your specific power and architectural requirements. The PV cells themselves are standard, however we can either increase or decrease the space between the cells within the panel, in order to increase or decrease the transparency and output of that solar panel.
By incorporating PV cells between two sheets of glass, the outer being low iron Toughened Glass constructed using laminate vacuum bag technology. The outer pane of a double or triple glazed insulated glass unit can be used to produce energy and give an element of solar control by reducing the amount of solar gain.
Low E coatings can be used on surface 3 to reduce the heat loss through the building fabric.
Ceramic glass can also be used to on surface 4 to mask floors etc. Monolithic glazing such as balustrades, canopies etc can now be dual function acting as a barrier or weathering plus producing energy.
With careful co-ordination with glazing system suppliers most glass to glass PV can be used with existing glazing systems.
